As I said, if you read other company-centered magazines like Sega or PlayStation magazines, they also do fanboy shit like that and mock the competition. It was console war shitposting in printed form. That "sega is uncreative with their names" is pretty tame compared to what you might find in other magazines. Personally, I don't even remember reading about other systems on Club Nintendo, all the issues I have focus on nintendo and ignore any other companies, except for arcades. But again, I stopped reading the magazine around the start of 6th gen.
About their fuck ups and misinformation like on MM7, yeah, a lot of times they just guessed things (see they say "No creemos que salga"), probably were informed that the game was coming out close to the end of edition process and they added the bit of information at the last minute. It's something that happened on magazines, as I said, if you read other vidya magazines of the time, there's always some bullshit you can find.
Not defending them just saying the things they were guilty of was kind of a thing every other vidya magazine did, to varying degrees.

Some look less shitty than others.
Gamepro posters had that big ass logo, but club nintendo in latin america had good discrete logo that doesn't take a huge chunk of the pic.
