We had tons of fun with those games in a party and randomized setting. I think being an isolated community outside the professional play made it more special, since I find it more fun to be a participant in the madness than an observer of something technical in a controlled setting.

I think there are new mods of the game that people prefer. I think it was called Project M. I still give it a go once in a while, but I don't get to visit my friends as often these days.

It did bring in a lot of expert players that loved Marvel. It was at every movie theater, skating ring, bowling alley, and even at my school. AVP is still one of my most favorite brawlers, and I wish it got a home port. KOF was a fun time away from the professional players of the Marvel Vs. games but it was unloved in NTSC regions, like Sega.

There was a desktop accessory included with the Collector's CD-ROMs which was a minigame in that style. It is more similar to the strategy sections of 13 Sentinels where the angels and Eva units are represented by icons/images from the show over a hex grid.

Battle Orchestra plays literally like Smash Bros. What did they mean by that? I don't try to decipher any meaning from the show, I don't even like it much, but I love Sadamoto's art and I think the female characters are really cute.

Only got to know of the game due to friends being manga fans. It is a shame they all tried it and just aren't into the gameplay. So the Smash games are mostly single player affairs for me.
