The big problem with pinball machines is the maintenance is a bitch.

All the pinball machines I've seen over here in Germany in the last... 10 years or so have had terrible maintenance - the ops essentially just don't give a shit, they just put the machines in their establishments and expect them to make money.

And the hell of it is that my dad is a seasoned tech with a fuckton of experience in fixing pinballs and I have the combined knowledge of an entire forum full of dedicated pinheads at my disposal, but the ops will never let us try and help them because they think we're trying to screw them out of their money. And they'll also never sell us the machines despite nobody but us playing the fucking things. It really makes me want to punch somebody squarely in the god damn face.

The second to last place we regularly went to first had a Mousin' Around that had weak flippers (making it impossible to hit a vital shot), then a Bride of Pinbot (which regularly screwed up when it came to the Bride's head), then an Addams Family (which had an electric chair kickout that regularly deposited the ball SDTFM, Swamp targets that didn't quite work and a few other switches that didn't register half the time) and then eventually the place closed, although the place didn't own the machines, which is why I suppose the actual op didn't want to sell them.

We then went on to a bowling alley that has a Terminator 2 where the targets you're supposed to shoot with the gun only registered about half the time and eventually ceased to work entirely until we bitched about it long enough, the Database mystery award was literally impossible to get because of broken targets, and most recently (still about 3 months ago) the fucking thing broke down entirely and they still haven't fixed it. We could have had it fixed in about a week, given some time to get parts!

The short of it is that you can consider yourself lucky you seem to have an op that actually gives a shit. Good on you.

Also, the reason I missed the cell with the line was because I was looking at the page with 80% zoom, which apparently Google never thought of when designing their site. It looked like I was clicking the right cell to me, but it ended up being the one below.
