It's the most memorable, best presented and has the best production values by far. It is overall my favourite, but everyone has their favourites, it's hard to say which is the best game.

A remake would only ruin it, you know this to be true. This glorious artwork would not make it. The music would be the worst remixes imaginable. The cutscenes would be visual novel style.

If you seriously think a remake would do anything positive for the game after considering Sega's current state, you need a brain transplant.

It's like you took my feelings for the game and expressed them with far better words than I could have chosen. It is a good game, indeed. Not a whole lot of depth but there is a place for simple games too, and this is easily one of the best simplistic RPGs.

For me it's less about how the story is written and more how the story is told. These comic-like cutscenes are top tier storytelling and were frankly completly unmatched until games became fully voiced.
