It's only for fans of Evangelion, but yes, it's one of the most decent Eva games.
And I love that instruction manual cover mimmicking the pamphlet Misato gives to Shinji on episode 1 "NerV - For Your Eyes Only"

He probably means 2nd Impression, which is also a visual novel much like Girlfriend of Steel, but there's a new girl character there with glasses (and she's an angel). For some reason it wasn't as popular as GoS, probably because the voice actress for Mana was Megumi Hayashibara and that alone made her more popular than the other girl.
I think there is another 2nd Impression game on Saturn, then some mahjong "shinji and friends" also released for PC in Japan, and some "gallery" discs... but the best known game of Eva for Saturn is 2nd Impression.
