Looking at classic Archie, I could almost imagine that this was once a person, but he was mutated and corrupted by demonic magic, and gradually the organs and parts that he didn't need just kind of withered and atrophied away, he didn't need to eat or drink anymore, didn't need to breed, doesn't need any bowels, kidneys or immune system, don't need any body fat, all he needs is the muscles to move his body around and let him cast infernal magic, which sustains what he would call a life, and the magic grows and mutates his body to be elongated and weird, his skull and brain expands to enable the spellcasting, he probably doesn't remember who he is anymore.

I don't get anything like that with the newvile, he looks like a generic alien guy.
