Looking to relive and discover some lost games of my childhood. What's the most accurate emulators atm for these systems?

NES and SNES is Higan?
GB/GBC/ GBA also Higan?
Genesis is Kega Fusion?
5th gen emulators worthwhile now?

Back in 2012 when this shit started to get really hot I saw these kind of comments all the time. So it kind of got me playing some old games I hadn’t in years and watch some old anime. I had always had these games but anime I hadn’t really watched in forever.

You know what? Everything I’ve played and watch has been as good or better than what I remember.
OoT still the best game I’ve played. Most the old games I loved I consider far better than anything modern on console released in the last 10 years.
For anime I went and watched the Sailor Moon. Still has great visuals. Still has it weird slow moments. Exactly as I remembered.
Played Dreamland 3. As cozy and fun as I remember. Actually this one was better than I remembered.
I went and watched Cowboy Bebop again. Yep as good as I remembered. I had actually forgotten a lot of it so it was neat to watch again.
Same goes for the stuff from the 80s to. I was a kid in the 90s so I didn’t spend too much time on NES or watch much from early 80s anime.

I’ve come to the conclusion that people are fucking retarded. I enjoy the shit out of this stuff. Even stuff from before my time in the 80s I enjoy. More time than not I enjoy it far more than modern games.

So I say test it out for yourself.

The thread was retards circle jerking Orta and actually claiming it was the best in the series. When I brought up it’s not even part of the same trilogy and that different people worked on it you idiots lost your mind and began shitposting and more circle jerking.

I don’t even care if you like Orta or you think it’s the best. I thought it was a pretty decent game. I think you’re a bit slow in the head to think it’s the best, w/e. But when you bring up facts about a game that these kids love and it goes against their perceived perfectness of the game they can’t handle it. Again that xbox was a perfect example of this.

I don’t even get how these kids act and think. It’s like they’re all women that need a hugbox or something.

Another thing that xbox thread confirmed for me. These kids want to think they love the games but if you get into any kind of detail about arcade stuff it’s just ignored completely. Of what little there was of arcades in the 2000s it won’t be talked about.

Does anyone else just get tired of the hobby? On one end you got hipster collectors, dumb kids, and ecelebs while on the other you got the scalpers.
Video games have changed so much past 4th and 5thgen it’s crazy. I don’t hate change but when the change is shooters like CoD and Halo and all the other things wrong with the industry like DLC. It just makes me not want to be part of it.

The scalpers are what really gets me. No other hobby or industry is that bad. Both modern and old video games. For example, Bayonetta 2 is now going for $90+ new on ebay.

PC games don’t escape this either. I just bought the new Rainbow Six game and they want $20 something dollars for the 4k texture pack…. It’s just out of control. The online environment is so different now too. So many 3rd worlders from South America and Russia. It’s hard to get a good game these days.

Even /vr/ has changed unfortunately. Dank memes are the norm now.

I really think that you're over thinking it. The janitors that browse here don't have a clue about the rules. Yes they have that list of the rules but they don't know how to enforce. It's why you get battle station threads deleted that are 99% retro but some guy has a single PS2 in his collection. Or where you post mentioning something not talked about much. Like arcade boards and stuff to play them with. The janitors assume it's not retro even though it's been around since the 90s. The janitors for the most part are not part of the board, they're there to enforce and nothing else and since they have zero involvement they fuck up a lot. Some are good though.


Also if anything this thread shows how much animosity there is for 6th gen. Not that the shit isn't retro was reason enough.
