yes these are saga games .
saga frontier has humams, robots, and monsters who gain stats just like this gme. you evem have to feed monsters to change them as well. mutants are called vampires or something else in frontier but function the same. in fact i believe the guy who developed this also did the saga games. infact im pretty sure the gsme is called saga or something in the japanese version
