When I was growing up my home computers were an Atari 800 and later an Atari 520ST, so I just used Atari 2600 joysticks on them.

This was why just about every wireless controller back then was crap. I remember there being RF Atari controllers back in the day (bulky as fuck) and I'm surprised there wasn't some kind of good wireless controller before the WaveBird.

Mine actually have those 6 inch rubbery flexible antennas. I'm pretty sure the ones I had in the 80s also had them. The telescopic antenna ones are probably an earlier version before Atari bought (or sued for) the rights to produce/distribute them. There might be an interesting story there maybe I'll research it.
