The introduction of Fi in Skyward Sword basically retcons Ocarina of Time where Link is put to sleep for seven years after pulling out the Master Sword. It's Fi who does this, and she does it so that Link will be the same age as the Link of Skyward Sword when he defeated Demise, since she believes, correctly or not, that the Hero has to be a certain age to seal Demise's spirit.
