Alone in the Dark (the original trilogy) was my childhood.
I was raised on the Mac versions so I was a little spoiled by the AMAZING soundtrack.
Unusually enough, when I was young, my favorite was the 3rd game (was a huge fan of John Wayne, cowboy/western shit as a kid) and nowadays I can't get enough of the original first one.
Not too many games nowadays (or ever) put as much effort into their games as the Alone in the Dark series: all the atmosphere, creatures, puzzles, and the overabundance of cryptic (but SO MUCH fun to read) texts.

I own the Alone in the Dark Trilogy (first 3 games remastered for Macintosh, released in the late 90s) pic related, but not mine

Loved the shit out of all of them really, although the first one is without a doubt the scariest. I feel as though Alone in the Dark was one of the first series to undergo the Resident Evil effect (move from survival horror to action adventure) which started after Infogrames removed the Lovecraft elements from the first game.
