Dude, you can see you characters' age in the menu, by the time Ginny's scenario begins and ends he's 83-84, he does live 101 years before giving up though.

Been a while since I touched TLR, but yeah, seems fine.
>fuck the formation requirements in the PC version though jesus fucking christ.
Never played the 360 version, how are they different?

Well, even in the novel Leslie kinds of disappears after she and Gustave have a "lovey dovey" talk after the creation of Hahn Nova iirc, and after Gustave dies she lives in solitude for the rest of her life.

It's really a sad story, Gustave still can't get over his past and fears that Leslie and eventually their children could be harmed/killed like it happened with Philippe's son, Leslie wants to marry Gustave but can't bear seeing him brooding about his past and falling into his depression and shitty self esteem again, Gustave's side of the story is really depressing, then you have Ventarbre desperately try to save Johan from the Scorpion's poison, Nebelstern dying just when Gustave needs him the most, Philippe turning into a Dragon and so on, being The Steel is suffering.

But I guess that's one of the reasons I like the Frontier 2 cast so much, all the main characters are people struggling with their own lives first of all, Gustave never overcomes his inferiority complex and the ghosts of his past but manages to unite humanity through his deeds although posthumously, Wil lives to see the end of his personal fight against the Egg but has to deal with the death of his family members and close friends, a huge price for saving the world, I like that there's no real happy end for both of the original protagonists, as much as it's sad, not many games manage to keep a tragic tone without either being gratuitous or sneaking in a happy end at the last moment.

To this day I still don't know who I like more, Wil the gifted bumpkin who becomes Tycoon Wil and still kicks ass at 80+ years and secretly fights to save mankind or Gustave, the fallen noble turned pariah who becomes the most revolutionary figure of his time through sheer determination.

>Which ones are the most like it?
None.
There's no SaGa game that is similar to FFII in structure, narrative or characters, as for the gameplay, any entry with variable stats is similar, albeit more complex.
Also, SaGa ditched humans only cast design very early, with the exception of SaGa Frontier 2 which is the only game in the series where the cast is entirely composed by humans.

>Firion is one of my favorite FF protagonist because he seems extremely human with what little screen time he has. I don't know why.
I think I know how you feel, it's probably because FFII doesn't spend too much time on melodrama and still has practical, concrete character development, you don't see those characters talking and talking about how they feel, you see them growing through their actions.

Firion&co. start out by literally losing their first ingame fight, then they slowly grow up by taking more and more dangerous missions, sometimes they fail, sometimes they succed, by the end you feel like they really grew up just by looking back at how much they did, the people they met, those who sacrificed themselves for them and so on, it's really something that keeps on growing on you once you do realize it.

If you liked that, SaGa games are all like that when it comes to narrative, you'll probably love SaGa Frontier 2 characters because they all feel very human despite not talking too much and when they do talk it's because they have something to say, not just generic melodramatic monologues with sobstories.

>You may waste time grinding with one party only to find out that you never get to play with them again.
You said you played other SaGa games, you should know that grinding is a no go unless you know what's going on in the game.
By the way, Wil is the only character you get to play with for all the generations on his side, so invest on him, if you need other info or tips come in the SaGa thread, explaining things in detail need quite some long posts and this isn't the place for that.
