Some N64 games needed an expansion pak for some optional stuff like high resolution, and not so optional stuff like game modes. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the expansion pak wasn't bundled with every game that required it. Even if it was bundled with the game, it means the game was even more expensive.

FPS games? Really? First person shooters along with racing games continue to pave the way for technology for other genres to follow. Everything from game engines, to physics, to networked multiplayer, to virtual reality, to visual fidelity.
