Did two separate fresh reinstalls. One with Full Installation with this ( >>2138268 ) ticked, and one without it ticked. Pic related. The "Fix" fixes the chainmail by making it solid and non-transparent.

As for this, all I can think of is that your latest DaggerfallSetup install could be from before this fix from 07/06/14 (which is only earlier this year, and DFSetup has been around for a long time) was packaged with the latest DaggerfallSetup.

As a side note I forgot how extremely unappealing the default non-andyfall face is for this preset.
