Gear aside from bow, Get a stealth and a nadir early on, swap them out later for better stats. You want
>life steal
>mana steal
>attack rating
>fire and light resistances
>movement speed
>crushing blow.

As much of all of those as you can get. Get a tanky merc so he can sit there and keep enemies off you. Act 2 with holy freeze is great.
