That thread is full of misinformation and retards, but that anon is right. It takes a long ass time but you can burn in a CRT. Incredibly unlikely to ever happen on a TV and it's still unlikely but possible on a PC monitor with regular use. It's only really an issue with terminals, arcade monitors, and projection tubes.
