Think of it for a second. Imagine being a coomlector. You spend a third or more of your day, most of the days, working. You then spend your money with necessities, and you have some money left. What do you do with that "excess" cash?

You hoard plastic. Rotting, yellowing plastic and occasional bits of metal. Plastic that will be one day inherited and sold in bulk for less than 3% of what you paid in a lifetime.

Hoarding bits of data in a flaking 90s 4x TDK CD-R is like a drug to these people. Imagine spending $4000 on that CD which smells like some old jap's ass and thinking of all experiences in life you've never know because you were jerking off to a $300 empty Earthbound cardboard box with a Costco sticker.

Because at some point every coomlector will look back and realize what they've done with their lives. While they were wasting tens of thousands of dollars on rotting plastic and chips, the emulatorchads were investing that money instead, building wealth, while coomlector's grandchildren will not give a shit about some ebin literally 65 years old JRPG they can play on mommy's old toaster smartwatch browser in 4K.

They will realize while coomlectors waste time on hardware, emulatorchads will beat 15 games on the same time frame and while coomlectors spend time cleaning and touching their precious SNES cardboard boxes that smell like some old GameSpot warehouse, the emulatorchad was having sex and travelling with their wife and kids.

Instead of living, the coomlector would rather double down on hoarding dusty plastic.

1: why buy the expensive flash cart at all if you aren’t gonna use it? The whole point is to use it so the og game doesn’t wear, you should’ve just bought the Chinese one and called it a day, they do the same thing so spending money on the expensive one was dumb.
2: buying a repro for $100?!?! that’s even dumber than the flash cart nonsense, if you pay more than $35 on a repro you got scammed really hard. Also buying it at all is dumb since you have the original one to put on your hoard display, it’s not going to fade as long as your shelf isn’t facing a window, and if it is your repro is gonna fade and look ugly anyway defeating the purpose.

You are very bad with money and making sound financial choices, if you were smart you would’ve just got the og and the Chinese flash cart. You have money to throw around, you just threw it away on stuff that doesn’t make sense. Also paying that much for any game is beyond any sort of reason. Especially one you don’t even look at.
