UFO Defense is one of my favorite games of all time, but i never got around to trying TFTD.
Although if there's eventually going to be an OpenTFTD i'll definitely give that a shot.

On the subject of UFO i've just started a new playthrough.
>Terror mission
>Camp the skyranger while slowly trying to get a look around the landing zone
>Chryssalid wanders up the ramp
>Back row gets reaction shots and wipes out most of the party
