welcome to the faggy world of vga
i have several vga monitors
some crt, some flat panel
they all accept different frequencies\resolutions
if you send an "incompatible" signal or off-spec
you will get an 'out of range' message or no picture
or a fucked up picture
or it will seem fine
you will be 1cc metal slug and the shit will go black in the middle of your run
then mysteriously turn back on several seconds later

good times

there are some good hdmi>vga lagless adapters if youre interested
the fags at retrorgb did a rundown
i had mixed results and have a few here

pic not related but somewhat related
it has a vga paththough
it seemed to "boost" the sync signal and stop the signal drops at the cost of 2-9 frames

a weird quirk was
>device has a weak sync signal so signal drops out every once in awhile (30 seconds or so)
>daisy chain vga>av adapter (using vga out)
>sync fuckups stop completely

to clarify i want to play hdmi devices on it (at the appropriate resolution/signal range) via hdmi2vga adapters

so far ive tried portta, tendak, and random generic white box adapters from ebay

they all fail unless i add pic related

heres a photo of the "sync booster"
which isn't its intended purpose whatsoever

stop shilling these chink adapters
they have horrible lag and quality
and are basically useless for anything other than cartoons

gbc-c has 240p downscaling options but costs more than snes mini

the only non-shit solution i found which is still not great was vga to av/s-video & it added about 2 frames of delay (still playable)

looks like AV and S-video adapter
i use component but whatever works

>>8388332
it depends on the monitor you are using
i have a "computer monitor" but it accepts AV
so i use a vga to av converter (low latency somehow despite being chink adapter)

ok i said i would report back to you faggots and here i am.

240p test suite on:
SNES, PC engine, genesis

1 frame of lag or less!
snes is the shittiest core for this converter although with some fuckery im sure i could dial it in (3-4 frames max)

for $20 you get vga to AV-composite and can hook the mister up to any piece of shit tv you want.

even has a little menu to adjust for overscan etc

A+ aka godtier.
fuck you that is all
