I don't think you read the OP.

I have a PSIO, and though it is a bit more involved than a modchip in cost and work, it has given me none of these problems. 1:1 burns of many games seem to work without issue including Dino Crisis & Legends of Dragoon. However it can be a bit of work, and many games need .CUE files converted to CU2 format.

>Just apply the .ppf patches with PPF-O-MATIC.
I never did this, but if it works, this may be the way to go if you are still using the laser.

I can't argue this at all lol. I have been here since pre-dreamcast, and it has always had that random feel.

>memes
There are not enough OC memes made in /vr/. I make them occasionally, and even have seen a few reposted. My logic is that IF one of my shitty memes is reposted, than this board needs more memes. (pic related is one of my OC & I really don't dislike emulation fags)

Or like the sticky says Windows 9x.

They have their own thread in /vg/. I wish they would stay there.

>some tips
If you know you would like to own something, Ignore emulation dweebs. Find systems that you are familiar with in some way to start. Playstation is a good system to start with because they are cheap. It is very easy add a mod chip or a gameshark to play backup discs.

This is great advice. I am in this school of thought, and this poster shares my sentiment on the hobby. Learning to clean and repair controllers and other peripherals goes a long way in the hobby.

The only other thing I could think as advice: Clean out each and every system you buy. Make sure there are no cockroaches nesting inside of them. You don't want to bring that headache into your house.

emulator users have no interest in preservation. They just want instant satisfaction, it's why emulator authors like the developers of CEMU cater towards these people.

I don't think this has anything to do with emulation.
