Give it a try sometime. I saw an anon's post on /v/ on some notable complaints:
>no single player campaign and AI; only time trials
>controls feel like over-sensitive ass
>online is full of tryhards (usually underage/zoomer types with Sonic OCs)
>along with tryhards, also rude backwards thrid-worlders and their ping and ensuing lag

But it's possible to master and be very decent in a couple months. Most important part is just to have fucking fun. I haven't had genuine enjoyment playing online since playing Mario Kart 8 with /v/ just 5 years ago.
