I really like Bomberman '94. It had the most features out of the PCE Bombermen and the console/controllers are very easy to take along on a trip due to their size. Also, 5 player capability is pretty sweet.

For single player I would probably play something like '93 or 1 though.

I still don't know what Konami even intends to do with those licenses... I'm pretty sure a 3DS Bomberman would sell well if it has a good online multiplayer deathmatch mode, so what's keeping them?

I find myself going back to Bomberman '94 the most. Saturn Bomberman is probably better, but '94's Hucard format makes it very easy to to take while traveling with the small PC Engine. Also, local 5-player support is awesome.

Probably the best multiplayer game that exists for the PC Engine. Also got a port on the Genesis(Mega Bomberman) and a remix version on the SNES.(Super Bomberman 3)

My personal favorite is Bomberman '94. I haven't played any of the 3D games yet(I should) but '94 has the classic TG-16 look with the most features.

I've played Super Bomberman 5 and I liked it, but I always thought it looked a bit awkward.

I also heard Saturn Bomberman was really good, but good luck finding a copy of that one.

Mega Bomberman was a pretty good port of '94, but I do prefer the original along with '93. Super Bomberman 2/3 and Saturn Bomberman are also really good.
