Probably a silly question but -

is there anything you guys suggest I do in my HUH Quake map to better accommodate Copper gameplay? Or are the differences so subtle that it shouldn't be any different to making a map with pure vanilla in mind?

In case anyone cares, I'm uploading an edited version of current Smooth Doom that only has Weapons and Effects (no monsters, no HUD changes), and they are in TrueColor

This should make SmoothDoom plug and play with any megawad that changes colour palettes (like Ancient Ayys or BTSX). It should also be loadable anywhere in the load order without affecting your HUD, since the HUD elements were taken out by another anon in a previous thread.
