/vr/ - Retro Games

To preface my questions, I'd like to point out that I understand this game series has a sort of mythological story behind it (Japanese folk-tales and such), and I'm not doubting the creativity or the amount of thought put into these games; I'm doubting the creator's sanity/lucidity.

Questions:
- Without psychedelic drugs, do these games make a lick of sense outside of Japan?
- Are they worth playing without any research, or am I going to have to read 10 pages of Japanese folklore to comprehend any of it?

Just installed all this shit and I have no idea what's going on. Tried to do "mount c c:\games\Sam & Max" which is where I extracted the .zip to, but it says I can't do it in "Secure Mode"

What am I doing wrong, I just want to play Sam & Max again.
