Someone should give another crack at a Wario Land 64. I wish I knew more about programming, modeling, rigging, etc, but my brain doesn't handle math well. It hurts to not know how to put ideas into fruition.

All of them are fantastic, especially considering they all play slightly different from each other. There's no definitive best, making each one worth playing.
>Wario Land (GameBoy)
By far the most accessible, being that it's the most similar to the Mario series. Levels are a perfect bite-size for the portability of the GameBoy the challenge factor makes this a comfortable first entry and starting point for anyone new to the series.
>Wario Land (Virtual Boy)
Larger, more maze like and exploration based levels thanks to having multiple planes to traverse courtesy of the Virtual Boy, but retains the same gameplay style as Wario Land on GameBoy. A unique experience if you can manage to play it on legitimate hardware, but emulation is perfectly suitable.
>Wario Land 2
Introduces interesting transformation abilities and puzzle based objectives, becoming a somewhat relaxing game in addition to Wario now being unable to die, but instead losing coins. A fairly comfy game if you just want to play it start to finish not caring about coins, but the challenge is also there if you want to go for 100%.
>Wario Land 3
Goes for more Metroidvania style gameplay but retains the puzzles and transformations from Wario Land 2, creating levels that feel like 2D interpretations of gameplay in Super Mario 64 with multiple keys to collect and chest to open depending on what abilities Wario has gained or what he has collected that can affect the levels' layout. Has some of the strongest level variety in the franchise, but traversing some area can feel somewhat confusing.
>Wario Land 4
Works as a fantastic blend of all the Wario Land games thus far and introduces faster gameplay by allowing Wario to sprint. Levels are completed by collecting 4 pieces to open the door to that area's boss. Exiting a level requires activating a timer and quickly racing back to the entrance portal. Easily one of most frantic and adrenaline heavy of the games.
