Wow, this game is annoying as fuck. Repeatedly tapping A to accelerate isn't exactly easy on my fingers.

I didn't look up an FAQ, but the manual does a decent job of explaining it.

Essentially, the key to my successful run ended up being "do small hops to gain speed, do the occasional 360 inbetween, and don't wipe out".
