I wanna add Super Mario Omega to that list. Its very old but holds up well imo as a potential sequel. Pretty graphics and good level design.

Are any of you anons working on your own hacks?

How would you guys go about shilling your romhack release if you had to? I'm planning on releasing a demo for my hack on SMWC during C3 in a month. I'd like to bring attention to it without just spamming it all over the place.

Side question, what are some things you guys want to see done/attempted in more hacks? I feel like many traditional hacks have felt pretty generic recently.

I have the exact same feelings, anon. I miss the discovery and wonder of SMW that you can only get when playing it as a kid. I'm trying my hardest to replicate that feeling with the Romhack that I'm making, even though I know there's no real way to replicate it.

Super Mario Omega is a classic that flies under the radar these days
JUMP 1/2 is probably my favorite hack overall. Huge variety in level design with way less bullshit than JUMP.
Grand Poo World 2, while Kaizo, is genuinely fun
I wish Super Mario TKO got finished back in the day
Brutal Mario is dumb but still fun
