A human either naturally holds their hands with slightly curled fingers at their sides or on their lap together. Vertical handhelds facilitate the natural resting positing of the latter. Horizontal handhelds facilitate neither natural resting position and forces something that's right inbetween the two main ones. Not to mention the additional neck weight caused by using a horizontal handheld over a vertical one.
Just admit you prefer horizontal due to personal preference and not for any other reason.

>because having the screen advice your hands allows you to bend your neck less
What would someone posting from their phone rather than their PC know about ergonomics? Assuming your phone auto-corrected "above" to "advice".
