I sort of had an idea the kind of moment to moment gameplay from the commercial I saw: https://youtu.be/E-qBkWerZDg

After getting the game from those cases with the glass front (with arm holes to physically touch) from K-mart, I recall loving the artwork in the manual. They also included a map which showed most of the map, leaving out some parts for mystery so it was not a surprise. The original game is still my favorite maybe because it was my introduction to the series, but I do find it fun and engaging. Ocarina was nice, but not impressive to me as I somehow kind of expected it at the time. I do like Ocarina's cute female characters.

I prefer the first one probably because it was my first experience with the series. I feel that Link moved faster, thus exploration was quicker. I had a greater sense of discovery since the path was not laid out/numbered for me. The images and story in the manual and maps did stir my imagination. Having a 2nd run through with remixed locations/labryinth layouts encouraged a 2nd run. I still like the SNES release, but I do prefer the NES one more.

At this time, it's not like I'd want to sell it on eBay. What makes it special to me is that it is mine.

Still very possible today to have something surprise you. Just saying the product and how/when the game was acquired is part of my memories of enjoying games. Like those temporary tattoos given with Ocarina of Time are now gone and all I have left is the bag it is sold with. In the end it is all added junk that came with the game, but in my day, I appreciated it. I don't expect my grandkids to understand.

Bullet dodging: Doesn't happen often.

Leaving a lot of my old games, surprisingly with all the boxes and manuals at my hoarder uncle's then finding out he still has them and I got them all back now.
Getting shot: Common occurrence.

Actually fucking bought a whole bunch of shareware discs. I didn't have internet connectivity at the time, so I paid money for what I knew was free. While I did discover a lot of cool games that I did eventually register, but the point was that I paid for a lot of demos. Spent enough on them in total at that time to have afforded my most desired game threefold, which I definitely no longer afford now.

I bought the XBLA game. I started the campaign but I forgot why I stopped. Back then, I was primarily a Saturn player and didn't have a N64, I just bought some random N64 games from the clearance section at K-mart for $5, including Perfect Dark. I mostly got my play in for N64 games gathering with friends. When I finally got my own N64, I did not have an expansion pak, so the game had most of its content locked away from me. So the XBLA release was my first real try at playing the game, bonus that it has a modern styled twin analog stick controls and upgraded visuals.

Sadly I worked over this past free gold weekend and I cannot afford to buy Xbox Live Gold at this time. Would have loved to co-op (or is it counter-op?) the campaign.

Good times, but I prefer the setting and characters of the original more. I know all of that is downloadable for the sequel with its improvements, but I still kept both. I think it is the boxart that keeps me from ditching them.

I have to work about 2 hours to get $10. Sadly all that just goes back into home, self maintenance, food, etc. Living check to check on minimum wage is hard.

I think I am the only one that has not moved onto Xbox One. I put my colon at risk trying to win an Xbox One X through Taco Bell, and it looks like I will not have an Xbox One X.

Yeah, I heard that most contact him via his twitch channel. I guess I do not pay enough attention sometimes. As much as I'd want the mod, I can't afford it so I haven't put in the effort to check every day.

Similar to how I've missed out on the last few times these hobby projects become available like how I keep missing the GDemu, consolized GameGear, NeoGeo Pocket Color flash cart, Wonderswan Flash cart, and Phoebe. While I can't afford most of those luxuries, they aren't even available for me to begin with if I can ever get the money for them.

Thanks! From what I see of the game, it will probably benefit the most from the UltraHDMI's de-blur algorithm.

Not with my unsteady hands. Plus I lack the equipment and knowledge to attempts such work on my own. So I have accepted that I work to get money so I can have someone do me the favor of repairing my old systems.

My focus at the time was searching for someone to recap my TurboDuo and TurboExpress (plus RGB mod the Duo). Badassconsoles was one of those trusted modders, but as noted he takes a while. GameTech US is more focused on making HDMI NES and will not do the Duo work. Another highly recommended one has many other side projects as well in addition to his normal job, so he does not have time to recap a Duo. So I had to resort to one person that gracefully agreed to help out for a fair low price, but now after a year the My Duo's sound died out as if the capacitors died anyway. I have read that the UltraHDMI mod for the N64 requires a high level of ability to install, thus the few people who offer the service. It would be nice if I had the equipment, room, expertise, and steady hands but I can't trust myself; life is suffering.

Are there any other good pages like this one
bootgod.dyndns.org:
but for other consoles
I checked my old NES games, and found that my Contra game may be fake
I would like to check my other games from old consoles

This is very pretty. I wish I had something like that. Alas, to custom make acrylic like that would be too costly for me (poverty). The NES one is my personal favorite of the series of games. Does the chips get hot in use in such a confined space (I know the original Famicom cartridges didn't have as much airspace as NES carts, but it doesn't seem to have seams which may let a bit of air through)?

>>3785864
Yeah, knowing how clumsy I am I'd probably find a way to scratch it, probably just from actual use causing this to become opaque alongside constantly wiping off my fingerprints. It is pretty as a display piece.

Okay, admittedly I have not purchased unopened/new retro games as I figure they would get pricey due to rarity. Megaman X I know is in that PS2 collection which I recently bought for around $10 still new from amazon.com. Yeah, I meant how you can get a lot of game digitally now like Virtual Console for much less than the cost in their day. There's that Megaman collection on every system which has all 6 NES games and I remember 2 alone costing $69.99 from Toys R' Us back in the day. You are right that it may vary from game to game, as some can cost less like sports titles, and some are worth a lot like Little Samson. However, I do mean, overall, games are less expensive now as there are plenty of options.

It's possible that you're just looking too deeply into the 4chan hole. I, for one, don't hate Ocarina of Time. However, my personal favorite is the very original one, possibly due to nostalgia of being the first I played.

Then again, there are games I feel does the same formula better like Alundra and Okami, yet it still does not diminish Ocarina in any way to me. I enjoy a lot of games, and it takes something really bad like the Mortal Kombat games for me to say I hate it.

I can sympathize. I wish your generosity gets rewarded in some way. Yet, I know the regretful feeling. It is pretty difficult especially when one is poor now, knowing the cost to recover the items (but in worse condition, like superglued price stickers onto uncoated labeled games from homes with smokers and roaches).

I was not generous, but I wish had had known to care more. My NES died, and I had almost all the greats (1 one not-great, but I enjoyed it because it was mine and I was young), so my parents had me give my NES titles to my cousin, and I got a SNES. Left my SNES at another cousin's place because I visited often, but that too had some of the greats. Another cousin (yes, I have plenty of those) visits too and appears taken quite a few of the SNES greats for himself which I can now never get back due to current SNES tax (like Super Punch-Out, Super Metroid, my 2nd copy of Chrono Trigger, Turtles in Time, Super Castlevania 4, Secret of Mana, etc.). At least, m uncle is not one to throw out stuff, but it was my fault for leaving some of the things away for a thieving cousin. Sad to know things are just better in your own care and purchasing secondhand from others witnessing the scraps that do remain has been mistreated (Genesis games without their clamshells, ripped labels, filth beyond belief, the aforementioned superglued price stickers, etc.). It is part the reason for such SNES taxes, I suppose.

I still hate being poor. I just woke up from a dream, where by some insane cosmic coincidence I hit the jackpot on not one but two concurrent lotteries (I don't buy them, so obviously wouldn't happen). I wake up back to this reality. It would have been a fine time to die in my sleep, as that is richness I will never know (can't say happiness, but it did feel happy at the time). Merry Christmas.

Thanks, I guess it was a result of a family that constantly forced me to put things back where they belong. Which is why it baffles me how Genesis games can be missing their manuals and cases. Of course now that I am freed from the shackles of family and extended family which were all neat freaks, I live if filth. I really got to get more space because storage of all I have has gotten to be a challenge. I cannot go full emulation at this time, as I enjoy both physical, and emulated.

A favorite between my friends and I are the AKI wrestling games. The later two particularly because running grapples was the added dimension needed, as it is easy to guess a running strike as that was all there was in a running status, but a running grapple made it a 50-50. We would make the most outlandish and stupid created characters, with strange/bizarre backstories, the dumber the better, and it was always a blast with everyone playing.

It is the holographic one. I just took that picture with my dumbphone and the lighting only came from the window to the left, so it is hard to tell. Here is a better picture, I took with a phone from China (roommate's) that claims to have a better camera than Google's Pixel, I had to reduceits size because 4chan doesn't accept images past a certain size. I tried lighting it in a way so you can see the little grooves, but in reducing the image size, it is hard to tell still.

I love 2 Adventures of Link, but I lost that one. So for something nice about OOT, the Sages are named after the towns from 2!
