i love doom
i love the pistol for always being there, no matter how many times i failed
i love the shotgun for being so reliable and unfaltering, even in the face of foes well out of its league
i love the chaingun for mowing down groups of weak enemies and chipping away at bigger ones from afar
i love the rocket launcher for solving all my problems, even if it hurts me sometimes
i love the plasma rifle for solving all my problems without hurting me
i love the bfg for its ability to handle any major threat with ease, whether it's one big enemy or a lot of smaller ones
i love the fist for its hidden potential
i love the chainsaw for helping me save ammo that's better used elsewhere
i love the zombieman for being that asshole you forget about until he plinks you when you're at 3% health and just about to grab that medikit
i love the shotgunner for being a high-priority threat that's quickly dealt with
i love imps for being such satisfying shotgun fodder
i love pinkies for their tendency to be dangerous by restricting your movement, despite not being very dangerous on their own
i love spectres for being so hard to see in vanilla
i love lost souls for how easily they start infighting
i love cacodemons for their big smiles
i love barons for their tenacity and ability to stand their ground
i love cyberdemons for inspiring raw fear whenever you hear their alert and movement sounds
i love spider masterminds for being more able to control a space than the cyberdemon, yet being more easily defeated
i love episode 1 for its tight design and excellent use of such a limited enemy and weapon roster
i love episode 2 for having such memorable sights like the crushing machine in e2m4 or the techbase hallway that leads into a room covered in flesh in e2m5
i love episode 3 for being genuinely sadistic and hateful of the player, like you'd expect hell to be
i love that we're all still here 25 years later, always making new things for doom
