According to Nishitani (original Final Fight co-designer): no, Poison is DNA XX.
According to Akiman (the other co-designer) only the US version of Poison is a newhalf, while the Poison in the japanese games is DNA XX.
TL;DR poison has a vagina and the only reason for the newhalf stuff was to avoid getting sued by feminists in USA (as told by Nishitani)

Sodom is the best charge character ever though

You know, another rumor going on is that Sodom/Katana is gay. I wonder if this is because of the word "sodom" being somehow related to gay anal sex (although I believe sodomy is just anal sex in general), or I dunno, the fact he lets Poison hang around him? But Poison is a girl anyway. Or maybe, that makes Sodom only gay in the US version of FF, but then again we don't even have evidence that they had sex or were sexually interested in each other.
As far as I know not much is known about him other than he's an old-school weeaboo.
