I don't have brand loyalty. I recognize the PS1 as a console with a great library but I think the Saturn has one too. Games like Baroque and Torico/Lunacy are more interesting to me than a lot of what is considered "better" on the N64, like Star Fox or Paper Mario. The popular consensus of what the "best games of all time" are is really a consensus of what the best children's toys are. It's not that people are wrong about what's good, it's just that they're mistaking their evaluation of pop game entertainment as some definitive take on the overall medium. The people who think games like Super Mario World, A Link to the Last, Super Mario 64, etc. are the greatest games of all time are no different than the people who think Avengers: Endgame is a cinematic masterpiece. Odds are that person just hasn't ever seen a serious film before, I'd be blown away if they ever watched Fellini, Bergman, Varda, or
Tarkovsky. Again, that doesn't mean Avengers is bad, it's just that it is a tiny slice of what's possible with the medium. What we have with games is sort of a nightmare scenario where all that everyone ever talks about is which kid's toy is the best, it really hasn't elevated beyond schoolyard talk in grade school. I'm not calling your toy garbage, I'm just saying that games where you don't jump on the goomba's head or shoot the bad guy are underrated, while these Pop Games like Mario and Zelda are maybe overrated when placed in the context of the medium as a whole.

Baroque for the Sega Saturn. It's getting a port for the Switch soon (at least it better be the Saturn version) and will hopefully be translated. There is a PS2 remake which besides not being retro is also very different in tone and feel, in my opinion more anime and worse.
