Don't use anything differently colored. They're pretty much all games you don't want to cut up. I'd just paint it with several light layers of spray paint (prime it first). Unless you knock it around in a cardboard box with a bunch of loose games it shouldn't scuff up. (did it with my SNES and it isn't tacky or anything bad). Just make sure you don't do it where/when it's too humid.

While we're on the subject of console repairs...

My SNES recently has had trouble reading games when I switch them out. It's fine when I leave one in - it'll read it every time - but when I take one out and put in a new one I have to turn it off/on and remove and reinsert a few times for it to register. Is is the port going bad/how easy and expensive is it to replace?

I recently patched the cracks in my SNES and gave it a paint job. Couldn't show it til now because lolbanned. I think it looks nice anyway.

Custom retro thread? Anyone else do anything similar?
