>weird buzzing noise coming from TV upon startup, didn't happen with other consoles I had plugged in
>disc tray sometimes closes by itself immediately or a few seconds after opening
Is there a way to fix these things or do I just try and find a different PS2? I'm not sure how to fix either of these issues. SPCH-39001 Model.

How true is this? I have a 'modified' PS2 up in the attic that i bought in Thailand when i lived out there. The console is the original fat PS2 and i purchased it not long after they were released in Asia. I never owned an original game for it, all my games were backups and copied games that id bought from Bangkok. I was buying like 5 or 6 games a week because they were like $3 each.
