This Simpsons game is loosely based on Season 1 where you have to fight Nelson Muntz (Bart The General), Ms. Lucille Botzcowski (Some Enchanted Evening), Sideshow Bob (Kristy Gets Busted) and Dr. Marvin Monroe (There's No Disgrace Like Home), as well as dealing with a pair of generic space mutants since Kang & Kodos weren't a thing yet.

To be fair, I like the Genesis version better for it's future proof 16-bit graphics, especially the background of the first stage where you see a dozen houses.

You do see Moe Szyslak for the purpose of doing Bart's iconic prank calls to him and spray painting his apron to red. But you don't see Apu or Principal Skinner in the game despite being on the box cover artwork.
