Sold okay in Japan but was too late for localization. As far as current price trends go, the Saturn version is absolutely ridiculous as you can easily see 20 of them on Ebay at the same time. That's hype for you.

The Xbox Live Arcade version was a very welcome port, and gave all the cutscenes and voice acting English subtitles. With all the hype this game got, it sold pretty well just like the Ikaruga port.

Saturn enthusiast here, if you're a fan of the genre, the Sega Saturn is one of the best systems for shmups, and I highly recommend you start picking up a few to bulk up your library. Of course, a lot of the best ones are from Japan, and importing can get expensive. But if you're curious, this list does a great job of summarizing what the Saturn has to offer. A great place to start is Galactic Attack(Layer Section in Japan), which is available in the NTSC format for not that much money.

Last time I tried to emulate a Saturn game (pic related) I got 5 FPS and immediately gave up. Have matters improved since then? I'd like to avoid buying an actual console if I can.

Radiant Silvergun

I hate it specifically because it's slow paced and tactical.

Just got my 4-in-1 Action Replay Cart and Sega Saturn mod chip, I'm gonna be playing pic soooo related. I'm fuckin' psyched out, I hope it's as good as Ikaruga was.
