I don't understand the thought process that leads to enjoying wind waker. First off, the game just has so much padding. Sailing takes too long and ultimately isn't an interesting way to cover up load times. Too many islands are small and insignificant to justify the sailing required to reach them. The plot, characters, and atmosphere are, in order, unimportant, somewhat charming, and overall pleasant, but the whole of them are insignificant to the actual quality, by which I mean the game doesn't really benefit or suffer from those elements, they are simply "just there" without having any real impact one way or the other. The game's dungeoneering isn't particularly challenging to dexterity nor cleverness, and exploration in the game requires more time-wasting than blind-searching all of the hidden locations in Zelda 1, not for tedium of repeat actions but for tedium of hiding load times with a damn boat.

About the only great thing about WW is the visuals and the music, which come together to really make a nice experience. If those are the best parts, however, then yyou could just as well watch a longplay of the games and skip the boring parts. You'd probably save a good 40% of your play time by skipping the stupid boat shit alone.

If you're the type that likes sailing that fucking much, then play a game that's good at sailing, like Sea Dogs or its unofficial sequel, Pirates of the Caribbean. Or you can play another fantastic waste of time Zelda, like Twilight Princess, and at least do a variety of different time-wasting gimmick activities. Of course then you have to deal with owtheedge + D00D REMEMBER OCARINA???!! 8D so maybe you should just skip both shitpiles.

Indeed, it's basically OoT only realized when the understanding of how to make 3D console games actually fun and intuitive to play had reached acceptable maturity and consoles finally had the hardware to support it.

It's the second only to WW as a 3D Zelda IMHO, this mostly because to me WW feels like a spiritual successor to LttP (Zelda and it's conventions in it's purest form), whereas TP is an iterative betterment of OoT with a new plot.

I remember the "Celda" debacle being mostly N64-kid faggots wanting a "mature" and edgy Zelda to show PS owners Nintendo wasn't just for kids, and since these faggots thought Zelda only should look like the abomination rendered in murky diarrhea and vaseline on their N64 they sperged the fuck out when they saw the beautiful, expressive and vibrant WW being more in tone to LttP, which they also hate.

As for BotW, it isn't Zelda. It's an unholy marriage of Goat Simulator and No Man's Sky with swords, thinly draped in sparse Zelda iconography. It's a make-your-own-fun Fidget virtual Spinner for idiots.

Watch that recap of Shenmue 1 that was on the Xbox version of Shenmue 2 on youtube, then try 2 on the Dreamcast with japanese voices. 2 has more action, shit to do and you beat more much more people there.

>Ryo: about that black car...
>townfolks: what? I never seen black cars or black suits here
>Ryo: I mean on that day...
>townfolks: that day...
>ryo stares
>townfolks: ...
>Ryo: when it was snowing...
>townfolks: OH! you mean when your... that sucks man.. but i saw nothing
>Ryo: I see.
>keep looking around
>Ryo: Tom!
>Tom: Ry-oh!
>Ryo: Did y-
>Tom: No man. I am not suspicious at all and I am just a regular dancin' hotdog sellers man. I did not see anythin'
>Ryo: Okay. Bai Tom.
>look around
>someone: oh yeah! that car! it killed a cat and almost someone
>Ryo: you know where that person is?
>nope
>Ryo: I see.
>Ryo writes things on his diary
I mean, a bunch of people in town and only a small few noticed a fucking foreign black car in the neighborhood? Specially when they barelly have roads and the few they have are tight as shit? Those guys in town barely have cars too or motocycles, you even have to ask a guy later to borrow you one. A black car or someone driving crazy would be pretty unusual and a thing you would notice or hear when you have nothing to do... like in that town full of old people or sellers with stores that do nothing but stare at things

>others might "hate" simply because it's a Nintendo game.

Id argue that more people simply "like" it because it's a Nintendo game

I always found it odd that they expect me to prove myself WORTHY to save the world. I mean really guys Im doing you a favor. I could just go home. Maybe ganons rule won't be so bad, lord knows the previous king wasn't do so hot a job if one pig is enough to take shit over

>it's a masterpiece
>no it's not and the menu system sucks
>it relies too much on the rythm combos
>no it's a dungeon crawler and it's complex
>but it's easy compared to others dungeons crawlers
Make up your mind, the first playtrough is always the hardest, you aren't forced to upgrade your weapons every time you have the chance or rely on the combo attacks, there are plenty ways to play this game thanks to that "complex menu", for example, you have 4 alternatives to restore your health. The gameplay evolves as you play to the point that you can insta-kill everyone without magic or items or go through puzzles without moving a block, yet i know people who couldn't get past the demo scene dragon because they tought it would be that repetitive.
It's been one of my favorites games since i played it, once you get used to the gameplay you will realize the many details it has to offer.
