Fighting this enemy, the Owl Knight, in Castlevania SOTN.

Killing either the knight or the owl will make the other one break down in despair, like they had a long history with each other, before you murder them too.

Maybe Castlevania games are kind of dark to begin with, but this kind of thing still breaks my heart.
