i've made a revision!
there are some things to note though:

1) smb2jp has been excluded, since it has no changes to mario himself.
2) i personally believe smb2 should be after smb3 because its mario sprite is clearly based on smb3's (and doki doki panic probably started turning into smb2 after smb3 started development), but i kept it to release date.
3) super mario land has been upscaled 2x, but sml2 is intact.
4) nsmb and nsmbwii are here! i would have included nsmb2, nsmbu and mario run, but i don't have them
5) spinoffs are excluded, except for the land games because i think they're kinda significant (and mario maker agrees).
