Nightmare in Vegas. Starting off this level I knew it would be polarizing with it's weird vibe right off the bat. But I just love how it kicks off, the isolation in this strange setting with footprints being heard all over the place. I think it's so well accomplished because the very first few areas you progress slowly, hiding behind corners and using the camera to see if there's anyone around - it feels like you're trying to sneak in before your position is discovered and you have to take action.

I might have missed out on the magnum and the uzis (since you can find ammo all over the place for them) but having to ride with my shotgun only really felt like a throwback to Home Sweet Home and put me in a state of anxienty when I suddently realized I was out of ammo for it during the second battle against "it" on the streets and would have to fight the last boss just using the pistols.

I'm not ashamed to admit I got filtered in the "climbing" part because I thought the game was telling you that jumping up and down that structure was a no no (I tried that like dozens of times) only to learn that it literally meant you can escalate it (but shouldn't). Such a nice and original touch by the devs right there - giving you clues but confusing you by making you think that sign means something else your head has cooked up.

The last boss felt like a hell of a threat. You know the last secret is right there but you have to get through the boss first and you got a lot of traps along the way to make your job more difficult. Then you have to get out of there and go back up so you have space to dodge and fight the boss. And while evading/dodging the boss is always hard, at least you're given you the right tools to actually try and make through it unscratched if you're really that good at using the environment around you at the right times. What a way to finish off Golden Mask!
