ITT: Games in a franchise that everyone hates or mostly dislikes but are actually fucking awesome and you have no idea why the general opinion is what it is.

Pic related is mine, I think this is easily the best Star Fox game. 64 is great too but holy shit this games on another level. Incredible orchestral score, the onfoot levels are actually really fun and being able to seamlessly hop into and arwing or landmaster is really cool, and the traditional levels it has are easily the best in the franchise. Those boss fights too. Also the game is genuinely difficult but so rewarding when playing on hard mode. Not to mention the multiplayer is some of the most chaotic fun you can possibly have. Absolute 10/10 game but everyone says otherwise.

Recently played Star Fox Assault and was blown away. For years I've heard its not very good and its always rated just as low as Zero(which I also don't think is that bad) and after finishing it I cannot fathom why that possibly is.

Every level besides the first onfoot mission which is just a tutorial is amazing, especially on hard difficulty. The onfoot missions are incredible set pieces with genuine challenge and how you can just hop in the Arwing and start flying around completely seamlessly is really cool. Every boss battle is awesome and each of the on rails levels are some of the best of the franchise. The dialogue and interactions between the characters are also brilliant and while not as immediately iconic as 64, is still some of the best there has been. The graphics are also top notch for the time and runs at 60fps flawlessly not to mention the fully orchestrated soundtrack and it's fantastic. Multiplayer is also loads of fun if you can get 4 people together for it.

Am I missing something? I genuinely came in expecting something mediocre at best and walked away with a game I would argue is better than 64 in many ways.

Is this game any good? I loved Star Fox on the SNES and N64, will I be disappointed by this one? Is Adventures a better game?
