yeahhhhh i've had thoughts about taking it apart and reflowing some joints / replacing some caps, but, working on a CRT seems like a heavy, daunting and brutal task. i can solder a bit. pic rel

That is an original spindle that is no longer in my PS1. The system now contains picrel.

Good question. PSIO came first, so i could understand if you bought it before xStation existed but...
Anyway, i recently installed an xStation, and though it was fairly difficult and i wouldn't try to do it without a multimeter and a magnifying glass, i am absolutely loving it. it has worked (nearly) flawlessly in the couple weeks i've had it installed, works 100% with every game i have thrown at it.
every once in a blue moon the buffer seems to get clogged and movies / songs skip for a few seconds, but it's a rare occurrence and my understanding is that they are still improving the firmware on this thing.
my Everdrive / SD2SNES have gotten a ton better over the last decade i've had them, and i would expect the same with this.

well i guess i'm staying up a bit more and playing some goddamn video games. that was a fun day lol
this mod was well beyond my experience, skill level and paygrade but somehow we soldiered though it. godspeed and godbless.
also post some good PS1 romhacks and translations. in the meantime i'm about to rock some Gradius Gaiden...
