>except that it's texture cache just sucked
Understandable, but I think in many games, developers were able to somehow work around these limitations and still deliver some great looking textures.
5th gen really was a time when only the best of the best developers could deliver something good.

This is still my favorite 5th gen game by far.
Kind of crazy to think it was released in 1997, predating both Mega Man Legends, and Ocarina of Time.

>The N64 is the most ugly platform of the generation
Hard disagree, you just seem like a strongly biased shitposter. But Powerslave is nice.

Textures look fine to me. Better than the jittering going on in PS1 games for sure.
I feel the only real "negative" of carts is not having FMVs, but I'll trade that over not having to deal with load times.

The problem I have with PS1's textures is the pixelation and, most of all, the wobbliness of them. There isn't a single straight line, ever. It's always shaking.

N64 has a lot of blur, but some developers would work some really nice textures anyway.

Mystical Ninja starring Goemon and its sequel looks great, and it doesn't even use the extra 4MB ram pak.

Anyway textures on 3D games didn't start getting good until the 6th gen. It was all very simplistic during 5th gen. And I think it's not necessarily bad, I think games like Jumping Flash or Super Mario 64 still look good, they have that early 3D charm IMO.

Emulation but be aware N64 emulation is not perfect.

Yeah, Sony's 1st party wasn't remotely as strong as Nintendo's, but to say PS1 games in general looked better than N64 is an outright lie.

I'll remit to this guy again:

They're different, all three of them. MNsG is my favorite overall, to me, it's the definitive Goemon game, like the only 3D Goemon done right.
GGA is 10/10 too, but it's more like the traditional Goemon sidescroller games with updated 2.5D graphics. Co-op is godly.
The 3rd one was a Mario Party-like game, I never tried it.

I'd comment on the music but all Goemon games have 10/10 OSTs. For the record, my favorite Goemon track is on GGA (Majin Castle)

The goemon series, best japanese-themed games.
I like other games with japanese themes like Shinobi, Tenchu or Shenmue, among many many other, but Goemon does it best, even if it's not realistic, in fact very cartoony, it radiates personality and atmosphere like no other.

Hey guys, I want to get into the Goemon games.

Any tips on where to start and how? I was thinking about playing the Super Famicom games first, then moving onto the N64 ones. Is this a good plan?

What do you guys think about the series?
