In this thread, we mention Japanese games for PC. PC in this case refers to DOS and Windows and not proprietary formats like the Amiga or the various Japanese computers. It seems like when DOS and Windows dominated the computer market, Japanese developers slowly pulled out of the platform, though there are a few that did get released.

Nowadays, it's not unheard of for Japanese console games to get PC versions down the line, but I imagine back then was a different story. Pic related is to my knowledge among the first Japanese games for PCs, even if it was ported by a western developer, in this case by Westwood Studios.
