I played every single one before the DS games.
Played 1 (Perfect Edition on Wonder Swan), 2, 4, 5, 'an RPG adventure' ("2 Core", 2 GBA Remake) and Shigata to the end.
Currently I'm playing the R translation.
R is a bit plain, and not as comfy as the GB games, but the Medarot selection is massive, with every single Medarot from the first 2 games plus many original ones.

Quite nice and comfy games. Actually, the GB/GBC/GBA are some of the comfiest games I ever played and are peak GB aesthetic.

And had the best visuals too, from the ultra comfy simple Medarot 2 graphics to the near-GBA Medarot 5 (that was also pretty comfy).

Medarot series, comfy as fuck Pokémon-like RPGs that gave birth to the anime known as Medabots in the west. It's a long series, the last game released was the non-retro Medarot 9 on 3DS, but I want to play at least the Game Boy games.

The SNES SaGa games.

Purumui Purumui, cute Playstation RPG done by the Digimon World series (sans the first) developers. Seem to run on the Digimon World 2 or 3 engine.
