Anyone happen to speedmap for Doom that could give some tips? I've been trying to give it a go for a while but I have an issue where after a bit I just flat out lose steam and never get anything playable done before time is up.

I'm confident that if you were to post your map anywhere outside of /doom/ you'd still be met with negative reviews and criticism.

Also the difference between your map and other maps that take advantage of such things is they do it well.

Anyone have any tips or general rules of thumb for map geometry and layout? I think I've come to the conclusion that I burn out on my maps often due to them feeling really flat and not all that interesting; it's disheartening.

I think I fucked up though and will need to change the exit room's theme from "marble" to "techbase"- or something. Don't think I'm ready to use the marble as a primary theme yet (E2M5 is mostly marble with skintek and redwall/1s) and am not yet sure what to do with E2M4. Guess I'll just wing it again as I always do.

Hey, I have a very important question for you all. Well, it's at least important for me.
Is there any way to stay on top of compatibility for mods while still having a toaster computer? I have reached a very unfortunate impasse in the wake of the introduction of ZScript, and I demand a costless solution.

I remember reading a thread on the QZDoom board where a developer of the port said they weren't interested in creating legacy versions because they "didn't want to optimize for 640x480 screens" or something. This angers me. What do you think?
