UMK3. The arcade version is far better. This version dont have noob saibot, otherwise it have robot smoke, that still overpowered. When you play it against other players it make difference.
The audio on arcade version have outstanding sfx compared to snes version. I realised that sound is very important too and interferes on the gameplay.

I only played it on mame. I wonder how it feels to play on arcade machine.

Which is funny because this is the game I have the fondest memories of as a kid. As a 4 year old I used to play this all the time and when a character used a fatality on me I would turn the game off and run out of my mom's room in fear that Scorpion would come out of the closet and kill me.

UMK3 on SNES was really weird in terms of its difficulty (on the Very Easy setting anyway). I've never come across this in another fighting game. Basically the opponents used to alternate from being ridiculously hard to being easy.

It went something like this. The first guy you fought would be easy and you're guaranteed to beat him if you're not retarded. Now the second guy you fight AT FIRST will be ridiculously hard. Like he'll fucking charge your ass and pummel you to shit with combo after combo. He'll input read all your moves so you hardly have a chance. Then when you've lost the fight and die, you'll lose a continue and come back. The AI will then be easy again. It will only be slightly harder than the first guy you fought but not anywhere near the 'psycho difficulty' it was just before you lost the continue. When you beat him, the next guy will again have a psychotic difficulty at first and you'll lose the continue, but then when you return he'll be easy again. It's strange but that's how it went.

The interesting thing is you had like five continues. For the smallest tournament ladder, this meant that you thus HAD to beat the AI while it was in 'psycho mode' at least once to get through the whole thing. It's kind of like getting a break point in a tennis match while the other guy is serving. Unless you beat the AI once in psycho mode (and beat Shao Khan and Motaro on your first try) you won't have a chance at winning. I was please with myself when I managed to beat it as a kid.

Download the rom here for SNES and you'll see what I mean: http://www.emuparadise.me/Super_Nintendo_Entertainment_System_%28SNES%29_ROMs/Ultimate_Mortal_Kombat_3_%28USA%29/36192-download
