Eh... I'm going to say objectively "no", but the atmosphere, zone design, etc. is much more comfy.

I think in terms of raw mechanics and combat gameplay MM7 isn't great, but I DONT CARE I LOVE IT.

However, the SECOND most replayed game I own and love is (trigger warning for janniefaggots: not retro - 2015) MMX: Legacy

I'm the only person on planet earth who likes MMX but I will defend it to my dying breath for one specific reason:

The combat is THE BEST TURN BASED STRATEGIC BLOBBER COMBAT ever created. I don't know how Limbic did it with Ubisoft constantly trying to cripple their game, but they made a perfectly balanced old-school RPG combat system where every single choice on every single turn feels impactful and every ability has clear strengths and weaknesses.

Give MMX a shot Anon, just be warned the game is slow and "on rails" as fuck until you get to Chapter 2. Then it becomes more of an open world, but casuals tend to quit before that, hence the undeservedly bad reputation.

Also has a good sense of humor - see pic related.

True, but do we blame the casuals, or blame Ubi for thinking:

>pseudo-retro game made for pure nostalgia reasons
>intentionally outdated mechanics
>full of references no one under the age of 30 would understand
>"Let's market this one to Steam zoomers!"

Still, MMX is a great fucking game. The reddit AMA with the actual Dev team was a hoot.
