Sadly the glory days of thrifting for videogames are over. I don't mind the increased competition. After all, I'm not solely entitled to deals, but what irritates me is how every thrift store, flea marketer, and craigslister wants fuckin' full blown ebay retail and then some.

>Mad you can't fleece old ladies anymore

No. Sellers at thrift stores and such need to understand that when you buy something on eBay, it is usually tested, has a return policy, and is shipped to you (as opposed to a buyer having to drive 20 miles to a flea market or to meet a seller). When you buy in the wild, you usually buy "as-is," so if your NES DOAs, you're shit out of luck. "As-is" items of any kind are usually 20%-50% of their working counterparts' prices in good cosmetic condition.A lot of the items you typically find at flea markets and more mom-and-pop thrift stores are typically untested, in fair cosmetic condition, and just piled non-desrciptly in a box or on a shelf. Their items don't deserve eBay nor retro game store premium prices.

There's still finds out there, but they're rare, and as someone said, the untapped mine so to speak is vintage computing equipment and games.
