I can't blame them for following trends, because at the end of the day Falcom is a small company and they need to put food on the table. On the other hand, it's quite sad that the Otaku culture has been so far removed from its TTRPG, fantasy and sci-fi roots. For the actual game, it plays like a Ys game but in 3D with a dash button, with endless persona style high school bullshit I couldn't care for.
